ALL ABOUT DENNIS
I have Fine Art degree from Cal State University. Have been painting seriously since 1964. My mentor for the last 40 years has been Vernon Nye a member of the American Watercolor Society. I try to paint simply so as to both show the mark-of -the-tool let the viewer supply the detail.
After graduating from college I was drafted into the Army and served as a Flight Medic on a UH1 Huey. After leaving the service and marrying, I launched my 35 year teaching career working with Special Ed. students. I painted as often as possible to stay fresh and earn extra income. I’ve been a full-time artist since retiring in 2004.
My work is to be found in many private collections and been sold at auction several times. I’ve completed many commissions that hang in some of the finer homes of Napa Valley. My current direction is to complete the African Big Five (Rhino, Leopard, Lion, Buffalo and Elephant). The sale of these paintings and limited edition prints will help to build schools, water wells and churches in Africa.
